For this Transformation Tuesday, we’re looking at this luxurious spa-style bathroom. The existing layout was very functional and relaxing even before the remodel, but the client wanted to give the entire space a facelift. We updated the furniture and fixtures with a more neutral color scheme using contemporary and calming materials to make the space more modern.

The existing shape of the bathroom was unique and impressive. The walk-in shower near the entrance connects with the bathtub in the center of the room, and the long countertop adds an engaging allure to this space. You can see that the shape of the bathroom and the furniture are all very rectangular, making the bathroom space feel very modern.

Perhaps the most obvious upgrade to this bathroom is the tile. Before the remodel, the bathroom’s bright color scheme included various shades of green, as evident with this green mosaic tile on the bathtub. Together with the client, we decided on a more neutral brown tile for the remodel. This new tile is also significantly larger, making the space feel more calming and less cluttered. The client was very happy with the shape and placement of the square bathtub, so we kept the structure of the tub in place and restored it with this clean modern tile.

The tile in the shower area also received an upgrade. The shower area connects with the rest of the bathroom space without much interruption. It is separated from the main space only with a single piece of frosted glass with an opening at the top. This open layout fits very well with the modern look that the client wanted. The frosted glass and walk-in entry makes this element of the bathroom a stylish part of this modern bathroom.

Similar to the rest of the remodel, most of the vanity area was well laid out, but it needed some upgrades to match the newer color scheme. The client requested that most of the elements remain the same, like the faucet, the style of the sinks, the cabinet handles, and the length and shape of the vanity. We did make changes to the color scheme by changing the vanity and countertop in addition to the backsplash tile. These neutral colors and larger tiles added to a more calming and modern aesthetic in this bathroom space.
