For this week’s Transformation Tuesday we’re taking a look at this traditional bathroom we installed in a Los Angeles home. This homeowner was in a similar situation to many of our clients; after living with a tragically outdated bathroom for many years, she finally had the means and time to invest in a remodel. Our team was delighted to make her dream bathroom a reality.

The existing layout of the room included a few particular details that gave it some charm and warmth. The homeowner wanted to keep the layout but install new fixtures and materials to complement the traditional style throughout the rest of her home. The homeowner chose a neutral color scheme with mostly beige and brown hues throughout the space.

In this photo you can see that we kept the layout in tact, keeping the bathtub in the corner of room to add a pleasant charm and finish to the space. The new wainscotting behind the tub with beige porcelain tiles better integrated the bathtub with the rest of the room, and the glass tile liner elegantly linked the shower with the tub area.

The remodeled shower was fitted with brushed nickel fixtures and enclosed with clear frameless glass. The plumbing fixtures are also traditional in style to match the rest of the bathroom. Our designer recommended frameless glass for the shower to make the space feel more expansive. A small inset shelf built into the wall of the shower gave the homeowner additional storage for soaps and shampoos.

In this final photo you can see how a simple approach to the vanity can improve the look of a space. The dark-stained freestanding vanity with shaker cabinet doors offered a complementary touch to this traditional style. Polished granite countertops updated the space, and the single mirror with dual sconces reduced the visual clutter in this bathroom.
