For retired economist Suzanne Reyes and husband Robert Scheinerman, finding the right bathroom remodeler was a major undertaking – their master bath needed to be completely restructured, from walls coming down to closing off closet areas. The couple had already experienced the typically frustrating contracting experience when they re-did a small area in their home – workers not showing up when they were supposed to, things not getting done properly, and the overall job not finishing on time.
As the parents of two young daughters, ages thirteen and seven, they had many things to consider. Their older child has autism, so things like excessive noise, smells, chemicals and toxins were among their many concerns. Suzanne and Robert were referred to One Week Bath by a friend who had remodeled with the company before. They loved the concept and made the call. From their very first meeting with President, Matt Plaskoff, and V.P. of Operations, Brian Kargari, the couple was confident they had made the right choice. They had done some preliminary drawings on their own, and could see that the suggestions Matt and Brian made were aligned with their vision. Looking to achieve a feeling of spa-like serenity, they loved Matt’s idea of putting a Solotube skylight in the shower. The design process was collaborative, seamless and easy.
From Matt’s point of view, “the critical key to the project was fitting a very large open shower, a spacious vanity space and a freestanding clawfoot tub into the space. In addition, making sure our crews were sensitive to the special needs of the household during construction was a very important part of fulfilling the client’s needs.”
According to Suzanne, “The whole experience was fabulous. There was such an ease of design and choosing materials; the construction and completion were completely smooth. The team was incredibly polite and especially considerate of our lifestyle and needs. They always showed up on time, and cleaned up everything each night. Everyone was so great with our children; they became part of our family, and we actually missed them when they left! One Week Bath really spoiled us – after our bathroom was done, we had someone come in to do the closets and, while they did a fine job in they end, they were not nearly as considerate and careful.
Our master bath is so completely welcoming and beautiful. When you walk in you want to say ‘ahhh” …I never want to leave the shower! We have two more bathrooms to remodel, and we hope to get One Week Bath back to our home soon.”
